NEW FOSSIL FALLS PARK

I couldn’t wait any longer!! The park I’ve been talking about for quite some time is finally open!
Some things to know: The slides are FAST! The metal slide is not fully metal 🤯 (I’ve learned a lot!) And this park will definitely be a favorite for a while!
The big cement slide is crazy fast! Like crazy fast 😂 just be prepared! It is so much fun!
The metal slide that I’ve been debating about for so long is actually stainless steel!! And is not supposed to heat up as much as metal slides, but will probably be a little more than the plastic. They did this for kids with cochlear implants, because they cannot go down plastic slides (the more you know you guys!!).
⚠️BUT Use caution when going on it! Because you never know in this heat 🥵
This park is definitely more for older kids, not the greatest toddler park. But there are some good things for toddlers to do.
Theres a beautiful sand volleyball court, a huge grass field next to it, and two pavilions (they don’t have tables yet, but I anticipate they will soon). A couple of swings (no toddler swings), and quite a bit of climbing.
It is mostly shaded, which is so so nice!
This park has not had a “Grand Opening” yet, so there is a chance they could close it again to fix anything that may need to before it’s an official park. The restrooms are also not open yet, hoping they will be soon.
‼️One more thing I should mention - the park itself is BIG. You can easily lose a kid here, it’s a little nerve racking. The scariest part for me is the access to the trail right next to it and the river so close by. If you have kids that wander, maybe not go here haha or just use extra caution. You never know this day and age!
Those who have been, what do you think?? My kids can’t wait to go back! This park will be busy for a while! We’re excited to go play at it and the river once skimboard season is back again!
