Hikes and Sites with Dinosaur Fossils
We are lucky enough to have dinosaur tracks so close to us! There are a few places we can see them, some in a very short walk!
Dino Cliffs Hike
Washington - Coordinates: 37.155532, -113.503225
.5 mile hike - easy to see. This trailhead is under construction, please check the @red for new routes to get there!
Silver Reef Trail at Red Reef
Leeds - Coordinates: 37.224859, -113.405131
.3 mile hike - located east of Red Reef Trail. Easy hike, two areas on this hike with dinosaur tracks. Make sure you look close so you don’t miss them!
Babylon Dino Tracks
Hurricane/Leeds - Coordinates: 37.12069"N 113.2055.8"W
4WD vehicle required. Small walk off the trail to them, petroglyphs are nearby too!
Warner Valley
Hurricane - Coordinates: 37.023105, -113.367124 - Off-road vehicle recommended, we’ve made it in our minivan though. .5 mile like after the trailhead. Easy to find and over 200 to see!
Red Hills Desert Garden
375 Red Hills Parkway
On the East side of the garden, a new slab of fossils can be seen that was brought from a local site. There are also fun tracks imprinted in the cement
St. George Dinosaur Discovery Center
2180 E Riverside Dr
Over 1000 dinosaur tracks all from local sites!
The museum is small and easy to see in a short time. They have a fun scavenger hunt for the kids to do while you’re there!
