Silver Reef Dinosaur Fossils Hike

Silver Reef Dino Fossil Hike

.2 miles to see the dinosaur fossils, longer if you want to continue on the trail!

I’ve been wanting to see these for so long! It was so much easier than I thought it would be, and they are seriously right next to the Red Reef Trail, which I’ve done so many times!

The trail is marked very well. You’ll walk in the center, day-use picnic area and follow the stairs up to the trailhead. From there, it’s a quick walk to the fossils up the hill.

We paired this up with Red Reef and it was a great finisher before heading home! I’ve heard there’s a cave if you keep going up the trail, we’ll need to do that sometime!

The day use picnic area is shaded and next to a stream. It would be a lot of fun to bring a lunch and spend the day there and doing Red Reef.

Have you done this hike? What is it like past the fossils? We’re definitely planning on coming back to it soon!
